Big Issue

Is our solarium ban in jeopardy?

Back in February 2012, we all celebrated when the NSW Government showed great leadership by announcing it would ban solariums effective from the end of 2014. Other Australian states soon followed suit and it seemed there would be almost a national ban commencing at the end of 2014.

But in October, the media reported the Tasmanian government had decided to delay its ban. Like NSW, Tasmania was set to ban solariums at the end of this year. We need to make sure NSW doesn’t do the same! With some in the solarium industry still arguing there should not be a ban, we need to keep pressure on the government to go ahead with the ban as promised.

Ask Environment Minister, Rob Stokes to confirm the solarium ban in NSW will proceed as planned, and take effect from the end of this year…
